How to set winch motor pressures for MAS or MORA 30 with a hydraulic block.
If the winch doesn't have a block click here.
1. Free spool the winch drum unless there is no cable on the drum.
Loose the locking nut on the overcenter valve (1)
Pull to wind the cable in (keep it free spooled)
Turn the setscrew # 1 until gauge shows ~800 psi.
To increase pressure - turn the screw to the left.
To reduce pressure - turn the screw to the right.
2. Push the lever to rewind or back out the winch cable. (still keep
it in free spool mode) Loose the locking nut on the overcenter
valve (2)
Turn set screw # 2 until the gauge shows ~1000 psi.
The pressures can varies a little, the importance is that the out
going pressure is higher ~ 200 psi than going in.
3. Pull to wind the cable in. Loose the locking nut on the
sequence valve (3) Turn the setscrew # 3 until the pressure is
~1250 psi the winch will change to high speed when you reach
1200.1300 psi.
Your winch is now set as it was from the factory and should work without
any problems.
Make sure the filter is OK as a high back
pressure will affect the winch performance.
(Note that some winches have the block turned 90 degree to the right than what the picture shows. The settings are still the same.)
