Most towing is performed by lifting the axle. These forks are designed for
that purpose but can be used in
many other ways. When lifting the axle make sure that the forks
are positioned as close as possible to the
U-bolts. This to avoid a sliding effect in turns. Bottom and right side photos shows how the 3.25" tall fork is lifting behind the spring
hangers. This method allows the operator to reduce stinger extension to effect a reduced
rear axle weight. Safety chains should always be used to prevent the towed vehicle
from falling off. Make sure the chains are correctly attached and have no defects. |
